WCI/PAL Update
On Wednesday, October 25, ABCFT/ABCUSD hosted the ninth annual West Coast Labor Management Institute. The WCI is a collaborative effort between ABCFT and ABC Administrators designed to share best practices, leadership opportunities, collaboration techniques, and research data on student achievement supporting collaborative practices. ABCFT and ABCUSD partnership is a model for many districts across the country as well as internationally. Consequently, this year, there were more than a dozen school districts from all over California, New Jersey, and South Africa to learn and share about our unique labor management engagement.
On Thursday, October 26, ABCFT and ABCUSD held our 19th annual Partnership with Administration and Labor (PAL) Conference. All ABCFT site representatives and their principal/supervisor counterparts attended this conference to learn about collaborative best practices, how to integrate technology, how to have ground truth conversations (fierce conversations), as well as an opportunity to have planning time to focus their joint efforts (i.e. PAL Survey, PAL site meetings) to creating more collaborative structures at the school sites so that teachers and nurses will have more voice in the decisions that impact their classrooms and schools.
